TIPS FOR A SMOOTHER MOVE

Many of our customers call on Extra Space before moving. Here are some tips that can help make your next move faster and easier:

1. Develop a master "to do" list and post it in a central area.
2. Pick up boxes, tape and packing supplies--just call or stop by your nearest Extra Space. We have the supplies to make sure your move is a success.
3. Sort through belongings and eliminate items you no longer need.
4. Recycle items you're ready to part with by donating items to charity.
5. Use up non-transportable items. Examples would include frozen food, cleaning supplies, etc.
6. Pack like items together and unpacking will go alot faster.
7. Organize moving documents and place them in a portable file box that you can take and keep with you on moving day.
8. Place different color stickers on boxes sorted by the room where they're going. Then place the same color stickers on the doors of your destination to help guide the movers.
9. Assemble a "survival box" for your first few days. Fill it with light bulbs, linens, garbage bags, tools, pet food, medications, etc.
10. Change your address. Either by mail or online, let all your creditors, publications and utility companies know where you're moving.
